Reptile Stuff

So I'm sure you're wondering what the heck this page is about huh? Well, among the other pets I have are some reptiles. But don't freak out, they aren't poisonous or anything like that! I have snakes, lizards, tortoises and frogs at my house. In fact, when I was working on my masters degree (yep, that's right you're gonna have to call me Master Chris), I worked with baby tortoises! It was really cool, I got to spend time in the desert catching and releasing desert tortoises and saw tons of cool things out there. But man did it get hot, I mean like 114 degrees at 10 am!

Here's a picture of my with a small tortoise at my feet. If you look very close you can see the burrow to the left of the picture. We collected the females and then had them lay eggs in a secure pen. Then we raised the hatchlings in a predator proof enclosure.

Check out my cute babies that I ran feeding tests on! These are about the size of silver dollars.

This is a snake (not poisonous) that I caught and released during one of our transect walks. I worked as a field biologist for a while and we identified different reptiles.

Here's one of me and two of the chameleons that I used to have. No I'm not a weirdo and I don't take them for walks to the mall like some freaks that you see!

Right now I have leopard geckos, corn snakes, a king snake, pueblan milk snakes, a leopard tortoise, a horned frog, and some veiled chameleons. Chameleons are my favorite, but man are they a pain in the butt to take care of. So why do I like reptiles? I don't know there must be some kind of psychological disorder that I suffer from or something.
